Aaron Tucker founded Shadow Mountain Business Law to help clients scale through sophisticated transactions, high-quality regulatory strategy, and his unique data-driven, process oriented approach. 

Aaron attended the University of Colorado Law School where he received a certificate in entrepreneurial law and a first-of-its-kind certificate in cannabis entrepreneurship in recognition of his significant legal research and deep involvement with industry-leading companies in this emerging industry. 

After graduating law school, Aaron joined one of the largest cannabis operators in the world as in-house counsel where he led cross-functional teams through competitive state cannabis license applications and other corporate growth initiatives, directly expanding footprint and revenue potential. He advised senior leadership on government affairs and expansion strategy while assisting and advising the legal team on corporate, tax, banking, securities, employment, and a wide variety of regulatory and compliance matters. He also spearheaded development of a variety of legal-tech processes; eliminating contract approval backlogs in hours, enhancing deal velocity and creating a path to systematically evaluate vendor spend and other deal KPIs.

In private practice, Aaron manages a diverse caseload focusing on transactional, corporate, commercial, intellectual property, and complex regulatory, administrative, and enforcement matters. He continues to advise industry leaders in emerging and highly-regulated industries; aligning product, operations, and business strategy with multi-state and multi-national regulatory requirements.

 

Throughout these experiences Aaron has experienced first-hand the ways a proactive, deeply integrated, legal approach can become a competitive advantage. He has also seen reactive, inefficient, traditional legal models kill businesses. Shadow Mountain Business Law was founded to address these challenges.

When he’s not practicing law, Aaron can almost always be found running and skiing trails with his wife and two dogs in their hometown of Evergreen, Colorado.
